looking to make a battery status toy that will show you how you car battery is doing.
Initial ideas are a 5 LED display (or a numeric read out - more expensive), that would come on for a set amount of time after a push button was pressed.
This is still in design stages and just thought they might be useful to you lot??
Initial estimations are cheap, and the range i can provide is varied to suit your individual needs ie - backlit switches, colours, sizes, always on, 5 LED, 3 LED, Numeric etc
Any interest out there??
Great idea, but don't Maplins sell those things cheap anyway...?

I'm looking for a numeric LED one, RS have them but they are £££££
Quite happy to build it myself but need someone else to design it!
....Yes, I know it has a stupid name, those crazy Japanese!
no checked maplin 1st - basically im looking at something you can stick to your dash, or fix somewhere, and have either a on - site (in the box) push switch, or a off site (wait for it.... Out the box) that can be mounted elsewhere.
Red -> Red -> Yellow -> Green -> Green LED's
Numeric ones areexpenise - i would estimate 30£ complete
LED - 10 - 15£
RS? Radio Shat...?
Hey i know the chainstore formerly known as Tandys used to sell all sorts of electronics books that used to have all these weird and wonderful circuits to build - I'm sure there's a circuit diagram out there somewhere to buy or just download
yes - but i will send unit to your door!
Not told you off for threadhi-jacking as you are a fellow Northerner - therefore: Sound.!
lol @ Radio Shat!!!!(can hi-jack my own thread cant i???)
LM3914 is the chip that controls 10 LED bar graph display.
That would be the circuit.
