Thread: GPS + cop tracking possible?

I'm not quite what you are saying.. but I've heard that each cop car broadcasts a radio signal that reaches about 1 mile. And if you had a police scanner tuned to it, you can tell if a cop is close by.

I'm no expert but I would assume that fundamentaly this is like the radar gun detectors but scanning for their radio signals as opposed to their radar guns. You wouldn't be able to "track them" but you could tell when they were getting close. I imagine the to track them you would need a second scanner at another location and triangulate the position.

the good part about doing something like this is you can tell when a cop is getting closer.. instead of just there is a cop doing radar somewhere.. plus if your alone going down the road the cop mught gun you and you won't even know he's there tell he locks on.. with this there is no hiding since i think they are required to keep their radios on while on duty

Did a quick search. It seems pretty pricey, but the " UNIDEN B796D DIGITAL POLICE SCANNER is Computer controllable and programmable ". To what degree, I dont know.

It is going to be programmable to the point of inputting the frwquencies into it. I don't think its going to have any sort of output to a computer though.

My bearcat has the Highway patrol warning mentioned earlier. It works pretty good, except for the fact that is god-awfully loud, and scares the **** outta me at high speeds.

I guess you could rig that LED or the alarm into something monitor by the computer. But I don't think it would be very useful. It just goes off for a little while, then the LED stays on for a little while. And it does get false signals too.

What about a jammer? I have instructions on how to build one.

what kind of jammer? radar or laser?

I have a laser jammer that works well (Escort ZR3).
But as far as radar jamming goes...wouldnt you need big antennas to get the job accomplished?

How the hell would you jam a laser? You'd need some sort of layer of reflective ****e on your car to do that.

All you need to do is send out a laser that confuses the cops laser. All it does is make it seem like you are speeding way to fast to be reliable, or too slow to be speeding.

Radar jamming is highly illegal. But then again, speeding is illegal too...
