Boy your in luck. Im into this stuf big time and my mom has a celica 2001. Go to http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...OYPAN1&o=M&a=0
here is a adapter that hooks up to ur factory headunit and has a cd changer input, but I noticed it also had 2 aux inputs coming out of it. I haven't tested it to make absolutely positive but Im pretty damn sure it will work. I asked on sound domain forum if it would and got a response that it would so it should. Man the celicas are perfect for a carmp3 system. Especially with the lil box for micellanious items above the stereo!

wow hunteer you are the man! Do you know if it will work though if it isn't really conected to a changer? because it has those other 2 cables to show the display from the changer so it might not work if there isn't really a changer there, you know what i mean? thanks so much

Most factory changer adaptors are made to except aux in as an alternative. But anyway
all it has is a cord to go to radio
cord to Changer
then rcas. I went to the nitty gritty on them and it said they were aux. inputs so i think u should be safe, and if it doesn't work just send it back or hack it.

I called up Crutchfield, and the rep didn't know what the connectors were for. So, I think it's a gamble. But, I can't think of any other reason for those RCA jacks, other than aux-in.
I'm getting ready to put a computer/LCD in my Celica for MP3, DVD and navigation. If you guys have any other suggestions or ideas, please share!
Oh yea, you can always find me on Celica Files.

I going with a PII-266, 128MB RAM and Win98SE. I haven't decided on the video card. I have a TNT2 Ultra that I could use, but I don't like the TV-out on that card.
I'm going to use Logitech's cordless keyboard and cordless trackball for control. They're both RF so no problems with line of sight.
Software that I plan to use are WinAmp, PowerDVD and Streets & Trips.

My system will be a Macintosh Powerbook 5300ce. (117MHz PowerPC 603e, 32 MB, Mac OS 9.0.4, currently only a 1.3 GB HD, but I'll up that to 6, if not 20) If possible I will try and learn how Destin created those really cool steering wheel controls for his "Pathintosh" and do the same. I'd love to put controls on my steering wheel. I also have some button holes free as well.

Yea, his pathintosh already had the buttons from the bose stereo...he jury rigged a contraption to use them...but I would love controls on the wheel.
