Dual display and MII10000 is killing me!

hey, i searched but couldn't find the answer.

with my VIA MII10000, can i run dvd out the svideo to a rear screen and GPS out the VGA to a front screen?

i tried getting a dual head Geforce FX5200 and the Audigy 2 ZS but they didn't play nice together in the MII10000, i get lots of static with the sound.. tried swapping them into my Athlon64 home system and same thing, im thinking it is maybe a conflict with the VIA chipset or something.

i am running out of options and already spent a whole week trying to figure it out.. i even swapped the Audigy out for an Audigy 2 NX USB card and a M-audio revolution 7.1.. and swapped the Geforce out for a Radeon 9200 with the same problem..

    this carputer is killing me

I am confused? You have a 19" CRT in your car? Are you talking about your home or car computer system?
In the car, it should be very easy to run both the VGA and S-Video by selecting to enable BOTH in the BIOS.

What do you mean by "run dvd out the svideo to a rear screen and GPS out the VGA to a front screen" ?

Buy a used 15" monitor for $15. They always come in handy.

I don't think you will be able to accomplish this with your board. You will probably have to turn off overlays to get both software packages to render properly, and that will add some cycles to the already limited cpu power. If you used a newer/better video card, and offset the cpu cycles, I bet this would be possible, but you said you have problems doing that so.... I don't know what you you are willing to do to accomplish this (esp since moving a light tv just to test this seems out of the question for you)

this is my carputer but it isn't installed in the car yet.. i am trying to work all the bugs out in the house before i put it in the car.

i want to be able to play a DVD in my car and have it come out of the svideo out of the VIA and at the same time run the VGA out to use GPS in the in-dash monitor..

basically i want to run GPS up front while my son watches movies in the back..

You know, if you already have the monitor for the rear of the car to play dvds, you could always buy a cheap dvd player. That is what I plan to do, or maybe just scavage the one I have now and buy a new one. The cheap one's use ide drives so I plan to use a slotloading drive and mold it into the center console, which I have yet to start building, under the screen. And since this dvdplayer has a modchip, I'm going to buy another but and give the programmer a good car-related back ground for the people in the back to see during the 3-5 seconds it spends loading.

i considered that as well, the only thing i wanted to be able to do is bring a hard drive (external) loaded up with 75 or 80 movies (ripped) which was one of the major reasons for putting a computer in the car..

any other ideas? i hope i don't have to move that TV and kill my back.. computers are such a pain in the ***.. i wonder if anyone else is running a MII10000 with a dual PCI riser and a PCI Audigy2 ZS and a PCI FX5200.
