    Question DC-DC Converter

    Whats the cheapest DC-DC converter I can find besides building my own?

    It's easy to build one. Like, for example, i took the PSU from a laptop, wired all the 5+ 12+ and grnds into the Mobo, then ran extensions from the 12+ 5+ and grnd to power the HDD. It's very simple, most places that sell them give you the schematics. All you have to do really is solder the 5+ from the PSU to the 5+ on the mobo. It's simpler than it sounds, trust me. The best part is, you can plug that straigh into the + - of the battery, without having the bulk of an interver/power supply/wiring. I got my laptop psu for 15 bucks.
