yea, it really sucks that it doesn't work all the time. the most frustrating part is not knowing where the root of the problem lies! It doesn't seem to be the power, and all it needs ( at least on my computer) is a quick unplug, replug in the usb cable.

back to my question though, which of the 4 usb lines would I want to switch to simulate unplugging and replugging?

I know there's 5v, Data-, Data+, Ground... I'm thinking the 5v, but anyone know for sure?

I would also guess the 5v. As I took a shuttle Wireless nic and turned it into a USB plug, so that I could use it with my laptop. I would think this would be the wire that would power the unit up and down.

I have a Lilliput on order and shoud get it on Monday. I have read and read, but can't figure out if it uses a VGA connector or if it does the Video through the USB. It states on the sites that I read about them at that the Video also came through a USB connector is this correct?

Here is the exact one that I purchased and the site its from: http://www.industrialflowerfactory.c...ail.php?o=1396

    Here is what it states:
    Touchscreen LCD VGA and Video
2 Video inputs plus 1 Audio input
    VGA input (USB interface)
    Ratio: 15:9 wide TFT screen
    1,152,000 pixels(2400X480 dots)
    remote control
    stand for mounting included

    Thanks,
    Bryan

It uses a vga connector. It also has composite inputs that go into a usb look-a-like plug. If it's a touchscreen, at the end of the VGA cable it will also break out into a separate usb plug.

How did you connect the power? Did you cut off the plug from the AC adapter that came with the hub and use that? Also you should ensure if it's supposed to be center-positive or center-negetive and connect the power and ground wires appropriately. I still think it's a power problem...

To bry21317: the Lilliput uses a VGA connector. In fact, the connector is pictured in the link you gave, lol.

Yes, I cut the plug off of the usb hub AC adapter. I also did check for polarity.

I also have this problem. It is more likely related to USB in general rather than the TS.
I have 1 USB1.1 hub for thumbmouse/trackball, GPS, TS (all 1.1 device). They all work fine. If I plug in the WiFi adapter (also 1.1) to that same hub, I will have problem with either one of them or all of them. Unplug and replug will solve the problem.
Since I bought another USB2.0 hub and move the WiFi to this hub, all other devices on 1.1 hub (GPS, TS, Mouse) work fine.
Some what, WiFi cause the problem.

I'm having an issue like this too. I have a Touchscreen/7" LCD I got off ebay. Basically I boot the computer, plug in the TS into a HUB, and it works. A day later it will stop working, and to get it to work again, I have to plug it into the computer directly (back of the car) reboot, then back to the HUB. Here are the combo's I've tried in determining the problem:

    The problem occurs when:
    1) In a 1.1 HUB unpowered
    2) In a 2.0 HUB unpowered
    3) In a 1.1 HUB powered
    4) On a 6' USB extension cable direct from PC
    5) All of the above on an Opus
    6) All of the above on an extension cord from the house

I've tried it directly off the computer, but not for long term (mult days) It worked in my house off the computer directly for a long time though when it was in my house. My next attempts will be directly off the computer in the car (which the cable isn't long enough), then I will try powering the LCD from an inverter instead of the cig lighter. Though I think the TS is just powered by the USB plug anyway, and not by the power the LCD runs off of (never opened it).

The only other USB device on there is the GPS, and I've tried it without that, too.

    Bulgogi,
I am having the same problem as you exactly, and guess what? I have the Identical USB 2.0 Hub that you have pictured back a few posts. I am starting to think that this is a power Issue, on the TS needing more current than most other devices.

I have pretty much narrowed it down on my setup, that the 5v that is is getting needs to have about 2.6amps, as the 110V Power Supply was supplying to it. I am having a problem trying to find a 2.6 amp DC PS for this at 5 volts.

I had it wired directly to the 5v line on my computer power supply, my problem is that when the computer was turned off, the lights on the CD-Rom, HDD LED and Power Led would all light up, as they were being powered from this 5v line back through the USB cable into the case. I am working on it, so if I figure it out, I will let you know.

I think I finally Got this working in my setup. What I did to make it work, is put a powered USB 2 Hub, powered by a 5V 1 amp DC Unversal plug. This Hub is mounted to the side of the computer in the back of the car. I then plugged my Long 16' USB 2 Powered cable into this Hub, and this then runs my USB up to the very front of the car. I then plug my IoGear Hub into this cable. I then have a 5v line that is powered from the computer's Power supply, that is wired into the IoGear 4 port hub. I then have my USB Sound and my Touch Screen plugged into this. It is now working pefect.

Where as before I had the long Powered USB Cable plugged into the back of the computer instead of the 4 port hub on the side of the computer. Now it all seems to be working great. I was about to pull my hair out, trying to figure this out.

Hope this will help someone else, that is at there wits end to get the TS working. It seems the TS needs to have quite a bit of power for it to correctly work.

    Thanks,
    Bryan
