    Hard drive vertical or horizontal

I have an 810MB IBM notebook hard drive, it for my player. Can it stand being mounted horizontally.

    Thanks

Allmost all nb-drives can be mounted in any

*shrug* -- I've haven't built a mount for my hard drive yet so it's been laying on the floorboard for about a week now with no problems... It has about suffered through about 35 hours of driving around town and on interstates. I really doubt that you will have any problems with a notebook drive.

I have a crappy Packard Bell HD. Ive hit pot holes at 115 (governer kicks in) and Ive been offroading , as well as I went "puddle Driving" (consists of driving down a flooded street at 60 creating a tital wave) during the last hurricane. The last time I ran scandisk , there were no errors. However, I would mount mine vertically if you are that inclined to go out of your way. A laptop drve should be fine

Well guys... i tell you what ...

i had this 3.2 gig maxtor HD sitting on 4 rubber shock there were mounted to the case of the player. After week of driving around the HD refused to boot and HD was totaly stuffed up.

So i recon first thing you do is make a good shockes or somthing to easy up on shock.
If you dont want to change ur HD every week

This is about normal 3.5in computer HDs im not sure about notebook onees. i got one notebook 1.2gig HD at home but havent tested it yet!

Fosgate, did you have your's mounted vertically or horizontally on the shocks?

The HD sitting on my floorboard is a 1.2G maxtor I found in the bottom of a box at my local recycling center. I just drive around as I would normally...
