XM Direct Audio Quality

Has anyone compared the analog audio quality of the XM Direct to the PCR? I found the analog audio on the PCR to be unacceptable, I was curious if the audio quality on the XM Direct is better.

I have the commander (same thing as the direct) hooked up through RCA jacks and it sounds much better than FM. It is not excellant by any means and probably never will be since XM in general sends compressed music similar to a low bitrate MP3.
