Yeah, I have a M-Audio sonica and it is causing problems, I just shutdown, no time to mess with it. There was a thread all about this. Lots of other people are having this kind of problem

Ditto with the Sonica. When I was using this for my sound card, it would only come out of hibernation if I paused the music before I shut down the computer. Then I would have to press play after the resume to start the music playing again. I gave up and went back to onboard sound.Originally Posted by dingofarmer

Yeah, I love the sound but it has some issues, I'd use the internal in my laptop, but it is horrible. I don't use hiberantion anymore just shutdown/startup, i love having a laptop Car PC, but if I had it to do all over again, I would have went mini itx, with onboard everything, more expensive but in the end it seems like there would be less issues. Your using the onboard card now? Do you get any hissing sound or distortion at high volumes?Originally Posted by rgardjr

anybody have problems with Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! Model:SB0490
@blazinlow: I'm pretty sure your Audigy NX goes full (master) volume out of hibernation. As long as you have a setup where you set master to 100% and use wave to adjust your volume, the NX works fine out hibernation.
No trouble AT ALL using the audigy 2 NX. No 100% master volume, I can assure you!
I did perform the 2 firmware updates and installed the latest drivers. Hard- & software below.
I never had a problem with my USB SoundBlaster MP3+
