    creating a custom enclosure

I'm interested in designing and building a custom enclosure for my car however due to the uniqe design and space requirements I'd like to design it in a CAD like program. Can anyone reccomend a simple way to do this? I know nothing about CAD btw.

Take a class at your local community college in using CAD.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.

Well, if you have six months or so to spare, you could get a good grounding in that time. Easier and simpler to get someone to do it for you.
I had looked into this in some depth and came to the following conclusion:
I am far better off just ordering a mechanical type LCD screen enclosure, complete WITH screen for $135.00 + $38.00 shipping, ripping out the LCD, put my new LinITX touch screen into it and put the one i have taken out into the back of the vehicle as a slave for the rear passengers. The enclosure i had looked at was out of stock and was $100.00 anyhow. Rather spend the extra $35.00 and get an extra LCD screen thrown in. Not quite as simple as that, but not far off.

    Just check out emachineshop

You download their CAD program for free, which just about anyone could learn in about an hour, then go to it. Either you can have them automatically build it for you or you can print it and take it to someone else.

CAD's not that hard to learn. If you're a tech-savvy kind of person, you can learn many CAD programs to the point you will need in a couple of weeks off of included documentation and online tutorials alone. If you've got several hours a day to put into it.
This goes for the guys, too. Because sometimes the guys are tapped out. But check your lease, Man, 'cause youíre living in F*bleep* City!
