    DVD burner Cable Length

Last night I came across a post about the length of the cable from the DVD/CD rom drive to the MOBO needs to be very short. I was half asleep when I read it and forgot how I found that post. It said something about a solution so you can relocate the drive further away. Like, if the comp was in the trunk and the drive was in the dash. Can anyone point me to the post? like I said..I can not for the life of me remember how I found it..

    Thanks
