how about in-Dash AM/FM TV Tuner/DVD Player

first, here is my dash:

I have the following idea. On top, where the factory radio and tape unit is (it uses like 2 regular size radio spaces) I would install my touch screen into an in-dash housing (motorized or not) on top.
below the then installed in-dash screen I would like to get one of those units on ebay, that are in-Dash AM/FM TV Tuner / DVD Player without the screen (~$150.00) like this one

I could use this unit as a regular FM radio (I need my local stations) and TV tuner (no need to hook one up to the truckputer) and would also like to use it as an amp for my audio from the truckputer.

both (my touch screen and the TV DVD player) should fit nicely into the space inside the dash without modifications.
am I missing something?

the only question left, what in-Dash AM/FM TV Tuner / DVD Player for around $150.00 to buy, that has what I need, like AUX in.

Pyle stands for somthin. Pyle of *****. If your gonna spend the $$$, id would get the one from digitalww. All that but better. Im eyein that one also. LMK if you get it

I think its a great idea ,but i would rather use this http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW because its cheaper

Plus looks better and its has all you need. I seen one personally and it loook pretty good.

trust me I have had A LOT of experience wiht indash DVD players...NO PYLE, NO POWER ACOUSTICS..Lanzar is....ok...BOSS is a good good choice.

now we're getting closer.

I'm not sure, but it probably would be hard for something to be a bigger POS than the factory radio that I'm using right now

I was first thinking of just getting an AM/FM radio with amp, when I came across these things, so I thought to get a "free" TV and DVD player with my radio wouldn't be bad.
Sound doesn't matter much, I'm an old fart and amps and subs etc. are long gone

the question is, what makes those units so ****ty? is it the picture quality, the sound quality, doesn't it play recorded mp3's good?
or don't they work at all?
there are some things I could live with and there are some things I couldn't

what would be a good unit to get for under $200.00?

I bought the Boss dvd5000b ; doesnt do tv tuner, but lets face it: unless you will be spending a lot of time sitting still, the tv isn't going to work that great anyway...most have horrible reception on the move. I bought mine from electronicsoutpost.com ; I dont like doing the ebay thing for stuff like this, because I want to know that there is a warranty and reputable business standing behind my purchase...the list of the dvd players says it has a tv tuner, but when you look at the description, it does not, and I'm here to tell you as an owner that it does not, but for $185 shipping included its a pretty good deal, and I'm very happy with it. These guys really worked with me; I originally bought a power acoustik unit from them, which was a total piece of crap, by no fault of theirs (although it did list some features on their site that it did not actually have...bad documentation; I'd call ahead to make sure that they actually have the item, then verify it has the options you need); they offered to refund my money, but I opted to put it toward the boss unit, and they pretty much did an even swap and ate the difference, which was very admirable of them.
