    my itx wants a driver

    i finally powered up my via v10000. just using a car charger up to the opus for now in my room..
    when i put it on my tv using the s-video it ask's for a 16550 driver
    ive looked it up and it seems to be a serial control driver.. where would i get this?

    did you get a VIA CDROM with your mobo?

    shouldnt ask for a driver just because your using the S-video.....

    and i dont think its asking because im using the svideo.. i think it was just consicdence that it hapend to do it..

    16550 UARTS are controllers for Serial ports. You're correct there.
    Normally, onboard serial ports use the driver included withy Windoze.
    Did you install teh VIA 4-in-1 driver from the CD? I don't think those have anything to do with it. Perhaps an INF...
    Do you have a serial expansion card to add extra serial port(s)? If so, you'd need to install the driver for that.
    Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

    ive installed that 4-1 thingy and it didnt help.
    and ive got no added on plugs and serial things
    ive just told windows not to bother me about that for now.. i dont need the serial ports anyways.

    Random though, but I'd try re-installing the software for your GPS USB. I know most of those require software to make your USB act like a com/serial port. Maybe that has something to do with it

    i figured this out out.. on a mouse i was trying to use it had a PS2 -> serial conection on it.. and the mouse didnt work either.. ..
