    VIA EPIA M10000 or MII12000?

I can't decide what to buy! The M10000 for $100 or MII12000 for $200. If I get the 1 gig, I can have $100 for RAM. Is it worth twice the money to get the MII? As long as I can run DivX/Xvids smoothly I'm happy. Do you think a cheap M10000 with 512mb ram will do this?

One more thing, if you want to hibernate, you have to run power to the board all the time, right? I plan to use my 350W inverter and ATX PSU but this inverter draws 400mA in idle just by itself

Your numbers a LITTLE off. M10k can be found for about $150, and the MII 1.2 for about $230. Give or take of course. But the price difference is still about $100, so he was on the money there.

I am going to get the MII 1.2 cause I'm starting from scratch, and I'd like to go with the newest hardware available.

Well, in Europe you can find them for about 140E the 10000, and 210E the MII12000.
Get the MII12000. Convinse you self by reading the articles on www.epiacenter.com.

Ok, I'm sorry I underetimated price a "little", point was BIG difference in price. Question still, is it worth it?

Btw, there was a recent ebay auction close for a V10000 - $100. Don't know if it is as good as M10000 though,

Difference is 200MHz and a PCMCIA slot...if you don't need the PCMCIA slot, the M10k should be fine, and you can put the money you save towards something else

And I dont need a PCMCIA slot. Is the built in video card and sound the same? If so, I most definetly will spend those $100 on something else

You don't need to power the computer during hibernation though certain peripherals may require it. Other peripherals have problems with hibernation regardless.

Can I use DDR PC3200 ram instead of PC2100 in these EPIA boards? I'm almost sure but better to ask before I order.
