What would you do with available CF slot

    Hi everyone,
I was just wondering, the MII10K en MII12K have CF-slots, what do you or would you do with this? I have a Holux 270 CF GPS with external antenna and will be hooking this up.

But I've seen with the description of the mobo's that you can boot through CF. Does anybody actually do this, and what's the startup time.

And what else do you have in there?

    Gr,
    S.

AFAIK, the MII boards do not support booting from the onboard cardbus.

I usually have my Cell modem in one and a 802.11b CF modem in the other. Or 2, 1 gig CF cards with music or map files on them. Since nobody makes cellular modem in USB, and the PCMCIA/USB converters only work for file storage cards, that was the reason for me.

That's not true, MultiTech makes USB and serial cellular voice/data/fax modems:

They come in GSM/GPRS and CDMA2000 flavors, and the prices vary from between $200 and $300, depending on the version.

The USB modems do data, fax, and can even work as a voice cell phone, as they have a RJ11/RJ12 jack on the back for a handset / speakerphone type of connection.
