Converted 3.5" HD to External USB

Well i havent had any time at all to figure out the current small prob im having,,

but before i tried a few more things i figured id ask if anyone might know. Straight to it..

I made a USB hard drive out of a normal 3.5" 120GB hard drive, it was working fine while i had it directly connected to the USB slot on my EPIA M10k, now i have a USB 2.0 HUB connected and the HD now goes through that and the BIOS freezes right before IDE check, i changed a few BIOS options like only boot from IDE, not to boot other devices ect, but still nothing, if anyone has any suggestions let me know, otherwise ill eventually figure it out.

A troubleshooting step to try: Does unplugging the drive from the hub fix the problem? Just because that's the last thing you remember doing doesn't necessarilly mean that it's what broke. Just confirm whether swapping between the hub and direct connect is THE thing that causes it to go between broke and fixed.

Second, are you trying to boot off this drive?

Yah, go back to the original config to see if it still works. Is the USB hub powered?

yea, currently when i get in my car i have to unplugg the USB HD let the BIOS boot, then plug back in the USB HD, yes it still works if i bypass the HD and go direct into the USB slot, yes the USB is BUS powered and external powered, i have to have it external powered so i can use my GPS mouse

My guess would be that the hub does not have quite enough power for the hard drive.
