If you were going to do 100 CarPc's.....

I need to know what I should look into buying as I Need to quote a company for 100 car Pcs. I basically am looking to see what everyone would recommend here for Price and Power Efficiency.

Here is what I would need in them.

    40GB HD(at least)
    Xp Home
    Wireless 802.11B
    GPS
    7" Liliput or Xenarc Screen
    Wireless Keyboard

If anyone wants to send me a quote also, then PM me. I know that this is going to be High Dollar, but there is a big investor wanting to get started and ready to fund it happening.

    Thanks,
    Bryan

I'd buy the single din carputers from armen, have him upgrade them to 40gb hard drives, use USB mouse GPS units, and some linksys USB Wifi cards.

You don't want to assemble 100 units. You want to BUY 100 units, set up one the way you like it, and ghost the other 99.

Also, make sure you're square with licensing and all that if you're going to put XP on them (or any other non-freeware).

Sounds like you're looking at @ $800+ a piece at least.

I don't know if it is going to fly yet or not, but I will find out tommorrow. I have only had mine installed for 2 days, but damn I love it. I can get wifi all over the place.

I agree, I was going to use the Ghost to do the Drives for sure, I sure don't want to do that. When you state Armin, can you tell me who that is? I have been reading on these forums for a while, and have seen his name before, but not sure who it is.

    I am in Raleigh, NC.

Yeah I refuse to make units for my friends. One was enough for me. You are MUCH better off buying 100 units.

That's kind of a problem. You haven't had enough experience with it to resell units, especially that many to a single client. I'd give myself at least 3 months with a stable system before I'd try to sell more of them.

    I second that!
In addition, what frontend are you going to be using? or are you making your own? You have to make sure you get written permission from everybody in order to resell their stuff to prevent lawsuits against you.
I had a perfect quote to go here,
but hell only knows what I did with it....
