pirate_king,
who is the PS mfg? One thing you might want to check for is a built-in shutdown controller/process with your PS. The OPUS will boot-down your CarPC when you turn your truck off, and boot-up when you turn it on.
glad to hear you are going to post your pics, I am eager to see what you come up with.
good luck

I don't know why anyone hasn't addressed this so far, why the hell would you need 7.1? Can you name more than 3 movies off the top of your head that are encoded in 7.1? I can't even name 2!
Ask yourself honestly how many movies you will watch in the car - than ask yourself if the extra cost is worth it. Spend the money on some better amps or a better aftermarket HU.

Slangnasty,
Its a pw-200 from www.mini-box.com this should work great. 95% efficiency. I will be trying this out soon on work bench with a simulated 12v source.

sounds good. that should cover it. I run all my CarPC equipment from my Opus 150.
Looks like this device does not have a built in shut-down controller. Are you planning on using an ITPS?

SOmeone did recommend a shutdown controller, I will have to look into that when I get there so far tho. Currently I have my box hooked up on desktop and getting the software configgured. Waiting on a few other pieces of hardware to arrive in mail. (GPS, FM TUNER, USB WIFI) May get xm and tv tuner. I will have to wait and see how that monitor is that Digital wheels has for 500. Looks nice.

ram000,
Hey I got mine done, feel free to give me a shout with any questions. My ram is a 2003 Hemi Lahrime Edition. If you replace stock speakers, its a ***** to run new wire, however I can help you out, because I ripped the entire inside of my vehicle out. I plan on getting some picsture up soon, just got to find the time to take them. Just for your info, I was able to use an inverter, no noise, sounds real clean.

Hey PirateKing:
I recently upgraded my HU, new amps, all new door speakers, new component speakers in front kick panles, etc... I did NOT pull new speaker wire to the front doors or rear doors.
Q for you: Did you re-wire everything before you attached the new speakers (meaning... did try the factory speakers on the new wire)? If so, did you really notice a difference? I pulled new speaker wire for my front components but used the existing speaker wires+wiring harness (from crutchfield) for the door locations. I noticed a big improvement all the way around... but I wonder what (if anything) I would gain by replacing all the speaker wire to the doors?

btw... off topic i know *SOR-RY*...
but any of you Ram owners running a HyperTech PP3?
