You're probably looking for something like the XM or sirius radio plug in. This would give you control over just the radio. Other than that, the only alternative that I have seen is the radiator plugins that work with radio tuner cards. I don't think there is any head unit that allows control from a computer.

One other alternative would be to get a head unit with a remote, and then make some sort of infared transmitter driven by the computer. Or open the head unit, and control the infared reciever with the computers serial port. You would have to map the whole remote to be able to do this effectively though.

    - Relocate the HU faceplace to the Visor or wherever within reach. There are a few already did this on this board.

Do you have a removable faceplate? If so then its like sodering 4-6 wires. People use CAT5 cable for this.

    the face plate is removable

but i used the space for the radio for my screen , so i have to mount the radio in my trunk at the back so it would be like 3-4 meters cable.

and then you have 2 controls to watch , screen + faceplate.

Well, you could put the radio in the glovebox, or just hide it somewere else. CAT5 cable can go for 1000meters. I wouldn't worry about the length of the cable.
