    300 GB HDD
As many titles as possible (I have a list of about 60)
    Emulators and ROMs
    Solder in chips

The main thing is I want to be able play all these game without lugging the Disc with me (perfect for the car).

If you are actually wanting the titles none of the mod chip stores out there will give you titles, they can get in BIG trouble. They'll just mod the xbox and typically inform you where to look to obtain the bios and dashboards.

In any case, get an xbox with an x3 chip it in, I love mine.

check out the forums on www.xbox-scene.com Surely someone there would break the law to make a few bucks...

But get that ****e out of here, mp3car.com is an illegal-stuff free zone.

Seriously though, lots of guys on xbox-scene will be more than willing to mod your box for you... Though a 300 gig hdd may not be supported by the xbox bios. I don't know for sure, I've already modded mine and now I don't care about the cool new **** they do.

I have a 200GB in mine, but it runs at 5200 rpm. anything that runs at 7200 rpm (which generally is anything over 200GB) will produce too much heat inside the xbox and require a back fan upgrade and a hdd fan upgrade.

most professional modders will work with you for the mods, but not for the games. it way too much of a legal risk (as much as it is already to mod the xbox).

my recommendation is like the others: check out xbox-scene.com or google for xbox mods. some people will do this for you, but cost you major $$.

I perferred to do mine myself...and it was dumb easy once it it was done. I also did the fan mods myself with tutorials from xbox-scene and my own PC hw hacking skills.

Here are the basic steps...you need to research at xbox-scene.com prior to going ahead with this:

    1. Purchase refurbed X-Box from eBay. Mod chips work better with older versions of XBox. I got a 1.0 box w/ a philips dvd drive off a seller from eBay.Don't forget once you crack open an XBox, you lose the warranty, so you might as well get a refurbed one.
    2. Purchase mod chip. I have the Xecutor 2.3 pro. You can do with a 2.3 Lite- there aren't too many differences
    3. Purchase a larger 5400 rpm hard drive. Heat becomes a BIG issue with XBox so get a 5400 rpm drive
    3. Crack open the box and solder (DO NOT buy the solderless crap) the mod.
    4. Remove original hard drive and install new one.
    5. Close box.
    6. Download desired Xecutor BIOS from your favorite USENET newsgroup (check Newzbin.com for easy download links) or EFNET IRC chatroom
    7. Download Slayer's Auto-Install 2.6
    8. Burn BIOS onto a CD-RW and boot modded xbox with it. Once BIOS is installed, reset XBOX
    9. Burn Slayer's Auto-Install onto a CD-RW and boot XBOX with it.

Once Slayer's is done installing - your set to burn games/media onto your hdd. My suggestion to you is to sign up for one of those Blockbuster/Hollywood Video unlimited game rental deals so you can have ready access to games to copy them on a daily basis. You can sign up for one month and get a game a day or whatever you want. Those deals cost $20/month. OR get a newsgroup account, pay for a newzbin account and download whatever you want, whenever you want. Burn downloaded media to DVD or copy to Xbox via network and voila - you're done!

Do more research prior to asking further questions.

I've done a few chip installs and I've recently upgraded my xbox to a 200GB/7200 RPM. I drilled holes in the hard drive tray for extra ventilation and haven't had a heat problem yet. It won't be easy to find someone willing to give you copies of those games. The mod chips themselves aren't illegal. Most of the BIOS's that get flashed to them and what they are used for are illegal. After having someone install a mod chip for you and setting up a larger hard drive with a custom dashboard you can do what most people do...borrow or rent whatever games you want and rip them to the hard drive. They run great from there. Of course that's illegal as well. It's amazing what is being done nowadays on a modded xbox. Many of these "added" features are said to be included in the next xbox by Microsoft.
