First off, thanks for helping to solve my problem of getting a PC card (PCMCIA) adapter to PCI for the girlfriend:-)
However, now I have hit a different snag: my iBook doesn't have a PC card slot; only the PowerBooks do. I have a 200mw 32 bit wi-fi card i like to use to wardrive.
is there any USB/firewire to PCMCIA controller hardware adapters out there? many speculated when googling in using one of those SD/CF flash card readers, but no tries.
Didn't find that one in my search, but way way expensive.Originally Posted by ktritz
I did find these guys, but its only 16 bit. i contacted them and the 32 bit model will not be out till at least 3-6 months.Originally Posted by ktritz
that one is the reverse:-) going from PCMIAA to two USB plugs.Originally Posted by ktritz
I guess such a device doesn't exist. you would think there would be so pc cards can be used with desktops and laptops that have their existing PC card filled or don't have one.
This one *might* work, but looks like only a reader/writer for flash memory.
I think the addonics one includes a USB to PCMCIA adapter along with the flash reader/writer. So that should do it for ya.
The Addonics one is only for flash memory or harddrives. It won't work with wireless or other non-storage cards.
Are you positive about that?Originally Posted by tom61
