    Windows rebooting

Hi guys, I have a problem with the carpc I've just mounted in my car. My system is as follows; epia m1000, 80gb 4200 rpm, 512 mb, gps Bu-303 and an edirol usb soundcard connected to a usb 2.0 hub. All these components are connected to a carnetix voltage regulator. I also have a lilliput 7' monitor connected through the "egg" directly to the battery. My problem is that the computer turns on correctly, but right after windows xp has load up it restarts and its goes on like this until I shut it off unplugging the power wires.
Do you guys think that the carnetix cuts the power cause the request is over 60 watts? Is this possibile with only a gps and a external soundcard? Thanx

Just to ask, did you test it with an AC-DC PSU?
If they all work normal, the configuration is out of the problem.
Just unplug all external USB stuff. Boot up the PC and wait till it normal running stage. Now start plug those external device in once at a time.
Also try to play an audio CD to see if it can do that.

    Pedro,

The P1260 LEDs will begin blinking if you are drawing too much current. Check the Installation Manual pg 35 for LED codes. I would agree with MatrixPC, try unplugging your USB devices first to see if it boots and runs normally. If so, then reconnect the USB devices.

Now it boots normally, I don't know why, maybe it was just the battery that was giving up.....anyways now it al works perfectly but I still have the problem of the flickering of the lilliput....i've noticed that when the car engine is on the situation gets worst while if I shut it of it flickers just a bit. I tried to change the refresh rate but I did't see much improovemet. Do you think its the vga cable which is not enought protected from interferences? Any suggestion would be helpful...

    Pedro,

Glad to hear you are making progress!!

Are you still powering your screen from the egg? If so, try powering it from the P1260. Keep your screen power cable as short as possible using 18GA wire or larger. If your cable it too thin, and more than about 6 feet it will aggravate the flicker problem.

Also try keeping the video and power leads for the screen away from any power lines for the car. You can get a power line noise filter and try that on the screen, and/or run power from your P1260.
