Resume from standby issue

So I asked this in the power supply forum to no avail.. I'll try here..

When the computer goes into standby overnight, it refuses to come back. It powers up, but all i get is a blinking cursor in the upper left corner of the screen.

Shorter duration standbys work just fine. Hibernation seems to work, but i'm sorta disturbed by this problem..

Software:
windows xp sp2

HArdware:
via MII120000
opus 90w
512 megs of ram
Xenarc ts powered off of 12v rail
audigy nx powered off of 5v rail
Slimline dvd (panasonic) (I tried with this unplugged to eliminate power issues)
Western digital 60g scorpio laptop drive
XM Direct powered off of 12v rail going to usb to serial adapter
Rikaline 6010 usb gps

is it powered from the power outlet or thru car battery ? tank battery?? if it's from car batt. then your psu may not have enough power on the power good (pg). mine's the same if i leave it for longer hours mobo no longer start, it'll actually crash shown by the indicator light i have for my r/c (remote controller) receiver.

ofcourse bec. it's the same as shutdown, only difference is that it acquires some space in your hd where it can store recently used apps and it's state at the time you hybernate.

I think it's powered from the car battery, but I'm not sure..If it was coming from the power outlet, it wouldn't get power if the car was off, correct?
