Hi,
I have been searching the forums for a week and reading, but I can't make up my mind on a motherboard. My goal is to simply play Mp3's, Gps, and maybe watch a DVD, but mainly the first two.
I have a G35 and I have the stock headunit.
I am concerned about power and price of the motherboard. Could someone make some suggestions. Is a via epia m10000 going to serve my needs better than a P3?
At least if someone could point me in the right direction.
I value your expertise.

An epia will give you better power consumption and size, but may struggle with DVD playback or graphics.
A p3 will provide all the power you need, but will be quite power hungry.
I use a P4 mAtx board with a 2.4ghz celeron processor. Gives me both processing power and is good on wattage consumption. You can fit these boards in micro desktop cases, and I haven't found space being an issue.
Uhm.... The P3 is easy to power compared to a P4

just what i was thinking. P4 alone uses the power or a P3 + mobo. If youjust want something small and easy go epia 1 or 1.2ghz. they have hardware dvd acceleration but they can't do the native resolution of the 7" widescreens but most people jsut run in 800x600 mode.Originally Posted by TruckinMP3

I used a CPU and memory I had laying arround and the MB was $20.00
So far the only items that I spent much money on are the DC to DC PS and the 14 inch LCD....Total less then $350.
