    Possible PC Locations?

Ok, Well I was talking with Scouse Monkey about possible locations for my PC through PM's, but we are unable to send images. So, I am posting this here, so he and anyone else with ideas can help me find possible positions to locate my PC.

Here are some pictures of the rear of my truck:

    Right Rear:

    Left Rear:

    Right Bottom Rear:

    Left Bottom Rear:

3rd Row - Half Folded Down:

3rd Row - Folded Up (normal position):

Currently I have it on the Floor in the 3rd Row section, with the seat normally folded up. So, lets see that creativity flow, since I don't have any.

    Thanks in advance!!

What kind of car is it? And is there any room under the rubber floor mat in the back? Possibly a spare tire well?

It is a 2005 GMC Envoy XL. Yes there is a storage area thing under the mat. I was thinking of putting there but my concerns are heat, runing the cable, and finding alternative place to store some car tools (duct tape, jumper cables, few minor wrenches, etc..)

Hi Coeus, will have to be a quick on as am at work. Your pics are a bit confusing for me as i live int he UK with reasonably sized cars and have never been in anything like that - 3 rows of seats????? Can you get a pic with the boot open looking in? (aka tailgate)

That area with vents on the side below the cup holder that is a bit recessed woulf be perfect for mounting stuff as the bottom shelf would stop things that roll round int he boot from hitting the parts. But i don't think it is big enough for a mATX mobo. I would not go for a flat boot isntall. How often to you have people in the 3rd row? What about a on the floor in the middle of the 3rd row for the mobo and the invterer etc on the side of the boot - good distance then for noise etc. + you could add some cold cathodes to the mbo enclosue

Or - you could mount it onto the bottom of the shelf in the boot - easy to remove then but also easy to steal.

Or is ther any room under the second or 3rd rows for the mobo - i see the mATX mobo as your biggest problem.

Or mounted onto the backs of the seats?

Scouse, yo ubeat me to the ideas......

Coeus, you need to pull of some of those trim pieces in the back to see what kind on space you have. I know it's an 05 but as they say "GIT ER DONE" I did on my burb and besides the 35" spare on one side and my secondary AC unit on the other I still had some space I'm looking at using.

yeah forgot to say try taking that side trim off int he boot to see what you have behind there. it already has vents and could be very good if there is space - or jsut replace it with soemthing flush with the upper and lower lips.

Ok guys, thanks for the ideas.. keep em coming if you have more. Scouse, I will get you those pictures later today of the boot. For right now, I might just leave on the 3rd row floor, so I can at least have the PC up and running. I will investigate more on the panels and such once it starts to get warmer. Sure is a pain to work on your vehicle in 4 degree weather.

    Thanks

    Geesh, what were you doing?

The more I think about it, I might put the case in the wheel well dohickie (will post pic later). How would I go about keeping it cool? The wheel well is under the rubber mat.
