    Cmos checksum error problem...

i have got this error before and its really ****ing me off because i have no keyboard in my car to hit f1. The first time i got it, it was because the battery in the motherboard was out. I bought a new battery about two weeks ago and now i am getting the same error. The battery i bought was brand new anyone know why i am still getting this error? I even put in a flopy drive to see if i could bypass the f1 to boot screen and that didnt work either. I get cmos checksum error all the time still. Does anyone know how i can bypass this screen or do you know why my battery ran out so fast? do you think it is possible that the battery they gave me was allready near dead?

Clear the CMOS again and go and restore the defaults and save.

Did you try a new battery again ? This might be "again" the problem.

If you want to bypass it, go in your bios setup (Usually press DEL key at boot screen, unfortunately, you'll need a keyboard for this step), and you should have an option somewhere (usually in the first pages) that says "Halt On" with a couple of options like "All Error", "All but keyboard", "No errors". Just select "No Errors"

    Thanks
    Hope it'll work !

well i wasnt feeling to lazy after all. i went to go put the halt on option to no errors and it worked for the first bootup after i saved settings but after that it just restarts the bios and makes me hit f1 again. i tested the "new" battery i got on a led and the power is drained from it. Im gonna hate having to go back to radio shack every two weeks to get a new battery. Do you think it could be the battery they gave me wasnt fully charged?

Well if your settings weren't saved after you turned off the computer, it's because the battery cannot supply enough power. It's not normal though that a battery only lasts 2 weeks, it can usually last for years. Try another one.. maybe a named brand like Duracell or Energizer ? it's like 3$ a piece
