Did you check to see if any if the cable came loose. especially the cable that goes between the opus and the motherboard (the one that turns on the computer). That has to be the right way to work.

I have hit many bumps with my m10k and opus and have rebooted several times but nothing where it wont power up.

Now is the time to get familiar with a voltmeter. It is a really simple concept. You have two probes + and -

Probe between componants to see what the voltage is. In this case i would check to see if the mobo was actually getting a power on signal.that could have come loose easily on both ends especially on the opus (flimsy connector).

couple of things.. make sure your powerswitch cable coming from the opus is the right way round, doesnt work if its not. <-- this cable i'm on about it the little tiny one that plugs onto the motherboard power switch. The other thing is, remove the battery from the motherboard, and short the contacts of where the battery sits, this will reset your cmos, just incase its in a twist. As for mounting the board.. I would be tempted to just stick some plastic or something between the base and metal, just something to stop it touching. A bit of foam will do, like you get when you bought the motherboard, normally its pink in colour.

if I think of anything else I will let you know

    Cheers

    hey guys, thanks.
I checked and double checked every connection and trust me, its not the connection. The white and green cable is in the right area and is not flipped around. I haven't been able to run it with a normal psu. Ill get to that today.

I will use the foam the mobo came with. Thats a great idea. I guess i might have to send my mobo to VIA. =( lets see how long it takes.

UPDATE: After hitting a bump while driving my carputer just shut off. After thinking it was my motherboard that shorted, i went and got another mobo. Same problem.
So, the mobo is not the problem. The opus lights up green as if its on but the cpu fan or screen doesn't turn on.

is the fan inside my Opus 150 DC/DC supposed to turn on? The light on the opus turns on but the fan doesn't run. Is that normal or is my Opus the problem?

Thanks again guys, i really couldn't have done this project without this forum.

I did try using a normal PSU. the power switch cable on the normal psu doesn't fit my VIA board.
I opened the opus up and took out the fuse and it looks fine. Plugged it back and still nothing.
    I'm so frustrated.
