    OK I installed two areas.

I had to put 7 LEDs into the map lights because their viewing angles are so small.

What LEDs have a greater viewing area?

You're killing me here! I just settled down too. Give me a few mins I'll go.

So what LEDs have very wide viewing angles? I tried cutting off the tip of the LED it just made the light dimmer and not noticebly wider.

The LED's I have installed have a very small viewing angle. I can look right into the hole where the lights are, and it will seem like one or two of the lights are burned out. But when I move my head around, all of a sudden the "burned out" ones will blind me.

I'm in the middle of replacing my interior lights with pure white LEDs.

Suggest some wide angle LEDs for the areas that need a wide area of light cover.

    In each hole, I have 7 12000MCD led's with 20deg viewing angle.

I like the color better than stock.

    with the led's on

    with the led's off

    this is the new color

    this is the stock color

Would one be sufficient in the middle light (still a incandescent bulb in the above pictures)?

Any ideas how I could fit more than one in there?

Did you see the price on those? And the size? might be a tight fit. But you are right, those things are ridiculously bright, one of my friends used them for a project, and all he told me was "it's an LED" before turning it on, blinded the hell out of me
I have found you an argument; I am not obliged to find you an understanding.

Where can I buy them? It's true that they're quite expensive. lsdiode doesn't have them, and ebay has a very limited supply.

Just do a search online, i came up with several stores that were selling them for about 12.50/each.
