    music skip from wireless

    ever since i installed my wireless pci card, everytime i come into range of a wireless network it causes my music to freeze for a couple seconds. when i disable the wireless connection it stops. how have you guys fixed this problem? thanks

    from what i've heard, that's going to happen with PCI wifi cards. i'd guess it's the way the PCI bus deals with interrupts. if you search the forum, you might find that the solution is to get rid of the PCI wireless.

    If you're using winamp, you can try a couple things. In preferences, general, set the priority to high. I wouldn't leave it on realtime though, but just to try it would be fine. There are also thread and buffering settings in both the input and output plugins. WMP doesn't seem to have anything useful to change.

    Actually this happens on my PCMCIA wifi card in my MII 6000E
    CarPC Status:
    GPS: 99%
    Hardware: 99%
    Software: 92%
    Case Install: 99.9%
    Dash Install: 100%
    Car Install: 72%

    im using centrafuse which is based off wmp. at least i know im not the only one

    CF is NOT based off wmp. Its based on directx.

    This happens to my PCI wireless card. I've never found a fix for it other than to disable it when not using it.
