Necvox 6.4 LCD displaying "DANGER!" ?!?!

first things first, i know very little about car audio/video so im just learning,...

i recently installed a necvox da-1025 6.4 inch motorized lcd unit into my ranger, but when it pops out and i turn the screen on, a giant message displays across the screen reading "DANGER!"

what the hell does this mean?

all I did was split the red/black/yellow off of my head unit to power the lcd. there is a brown wire coming off of the lcd, but i have no idea what its for.

any ideas on what i could be doing wrong?

Could the brown wire be for some kind of lockout mechanism?
....Yes, I know it has a stupid name, those crazy Japanese!

after a little hard digging ive found a few other units that have the same setup of wires (red/black/yellow/brown) but instead of brown, its blue, and its labled "sidebrake" wire.

i believe this wire wants to see that your parking brake is engaged otherwise it will display a DANGER! msg on the screen.

What can I hook this wire to in order to kill this ridiculous message?

apparently, this wire just needs to tie into a ground, i used the one from my cig lighter (since i dont even smoke cigs anyhow) also since I had to remove the ashtray to get my headunit in.

    SAFTEY FIRST!!!

I don't think so. I am pretty sure this is supposed to be ground.

    Thanks for clearing that up!

Sorry for the mis-information... seems there's both possibilities then... or just my memory fading...
