You might be out of warranty but I would email Opus and ask them straight away. Was the lilliput fused between lilliput + Opus?
I bought an opus 150w power supply about 12 months ago and I am just in the process of putting it in my car. i am driving over to the alps from the uk next week so thought it was about time i fitted it to the car, so I would have sat nav while driving there. Everything was working fine I was using the pc but had the liliput powered straight to the battery. After reading the forums I found out this was a bad idea as the battery could output 14v and it could fry my liliput. So today I want to maplin and bought a male molex connector to connect the liliput to the computer. I fitted two wires to the molex connector one to the yellow and one to the back. Each wite is about 3 meters long to reach from my boot the the front of the car. I plugged the connector into the female molex connector and turned the engine on. The liliput power come on and and the computer started to boot. I noticed there was interferace with my radio so umplugged the power connector from the liliput but the interferance was still there. I then plugged the power back into the liliput and found there was no power. I turned the engine off and on but still no power to the liliput. I then went to the boot of my car and the computer was not booting up. I have now removed the computer from the car and using a battery indoors (this is the battery I was using for testing). When I connect the opus power supply to the battery I get nothing. The computer does not boot and there are no lights. I have disconnected the motherboard (epial MII) and reconnected the power and I still have no lights on the opus. I tried replacing the fuse but still nothing. Have you got any ideas what the problem can be or am I going to need to get a new opus.
Thanks in advance for you help.

Nope did not put a fuse between the opus and the liliput. I did not think this was required as the opus already has a fuse built in. What size fuse should be fitted.
Internal opus fuse is 20amp, I believe. You should inline fuse to the lili with like 2 1/2 or 3 amp fuse.
Found out earlier max draw is 5A for Lilliput - though I thoguht it was 2A before that!Originally Posted by TheJack

I dont have a fuse between my Opus 150 and my lilli. Haven't had any problems (though it's only been installed for about a month).
When you were first seeing the interference and unplugged / replugged the molex to the lilli, was the opus powered up and running?
When I get it back up and running I will put a 5a inline fuse. I guess I just have to put the fuse on the +12. Which end does the fuse need to go near the opus or near my screen or both.
I removed the power from the screen I did not disconnect the molex. I then reconnected the power to the screen with the computer and engine still on and the screen had no power.
I have sent an email to opus and they have said do not worry as power supplies have a 3 year warrenty. I can just send it back to them for repair. They did ask if there where any flashing lights with opus just conected to the battery. I replied that there where none. I am now awaiting response as to what to do next.
Thanks for all your replies
Thats a longass wire. What AWG did you use? I would suggest getting something like the POL Opus sells insted of jeopardizing your 150W.Originally Posted by rainman
