Would this be applicable in a car?
Looks perfect.
EDIT: 15 bucks for shipping? Geez.

Awesome, has anybody tried these? Seems like it would be perfect if you were planning on running a usb hub up front.

i'm pretty sure lots of people use them. Cheapest way is to use a hacked up USB2 IDE enclosure i reckon. They can be bought dirt cheap.

That's how we ebay sellers get some money that we DON'T have to pay E-bay a comission on.Originally Posted by CavityCr33p

My first attempt at a carputer.
PM me if you're interested in a monitor faceplate for your '99-'04 Golf or Jetta. My Vortex ID is NorthAtlR32 - you can IM me there, too. Go here for more information.
I have 4 of them
1 for my car PC, one in an external casing (original USB controller died), and 2 for "testing" purposes (backupping stuff when fixing PC's and so on)
I got them from a hongkong based seller, since they have the same shipping rates to Europe as well.... I payed 13 EUR for each one, 3 months ago.
This one is the coolest I have seen:
