    using motherboard USB headers in carPC

    ok all the motherboard i am using for my car system has headers for like 6usb ports does any one have any sugestion on how to use them in the front of the car probly a good 5-6fot fromt he motherboard the way they have to run

    ok i had thought about that just connecting the panel mount headers to the MB then runnign extentions but i would like to use the panel mounts in the front any ideas i had thought about just cutting th 3in cable in the middle and splicing in more wire anyone ever tryed this?

    I think hes asking how to extend the USB outputs from the pin's on his motherboard not from the USB outputs on the back of the mobo.

    Yea... I looked into the a while ago. There is a company that sells them. They only have 2foot extenders i think but you can get several of them and connect them together because they have a Female-->Male too. They have a really cool product http://www.frontx.com/

    yeah, but thats expensive, i'd like to know what kidna wire to use to do this myself

    I am sure you could buy some thin guage good wire and the connectors and do it yourself

    i just go to Frys and get CD audio cables (same jumpers) for $1.99 and hack them up.

    er aint usb got a maximum extention you can use without a repeater ??
