Do you mean you need the burning software and DVD Decoder to use it? It shouldn't need drives to work.

It will work only intermittently, at best, with 2 USB cables. Try giving it a good +5V supply.

bah, i bought a slim case that said it would work with 2 usb cables....

Preface: I know nothing about electrical stuff

Can I just splice into the 5v that is powering my lilliput monitor and split it off to the CD as well?, or do i need a whole new line

okay maybe not...... thus proving my preface

Its one of the wires that i split from a molex connector out of my Opus.. what ever Voltage that is.

THe question is still, can I split that and power both,
or do i need to run a new line? and how do i get 5v

On the molex the red is the 5v.
