    what's it call?

    i know the one end of the connector to the cd-rom is a 50 pin jae but what is the name of the plug in the cd-rom itseft...?

    i did search for " laptop optical 50 pin IDE connector" and i got a lot of none related web-sites... is there another name for the male plug...i need to get a set of female and male...is really hard to do a search if you don't know the name of what you need!

    Figure F. The problem is it's surface mount. It's sucks that they don't make cables for that kind of thing, like an extension cable. Just curious, what do you need it for anyway?

    well i'm running a laptop and the cd comes with a cable of those but is a 1 inch to short and not flexible for my use, so i need to make me one.

    Are there any marking on the cable like names or numbers? I've never seen one before.
