Standby issues. Seriously confused here.

AAAh. Okay, wait. Serious standby issues.
It was working great until I did the following:
1. Bought a $12 LED case fan and plugged it into the 3-prong fan pin on my epia.
2. Downloaded and installed Motherboard Monitor [ From http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=204 ].
3. Turned it back on.

Before, it used to go to standby and kill the USB power because it's powered off my +5 line. Now, any sort of standby and it goes crazy! No matter how I try to turn off the power (standby, hibernate, or shut down) it will turn right back on after completing the respective shutdown cycles EVEN WITH THE KEY REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION.

WHAT THE ****!

I tried uninstalling the software and removing the fan and standby still messes up! I even did a bios reflash and it still messes up. Now I've set it to hibernate at all times and it's working the same as it did before the meet. And I've plugged the fan into the normal 4-pin molex.

Other ideas.
1. I did plug the fan into the motherboard 3-prong while the system was on standby. Could that have done something permanent to my standby capabilities?

2. Is there anything that the motherboard monitoring software could have changed that uninstalling wouldn't fix?

I really love standby and I would love to have a fan that works and even better works alongside some motherboard fan and temp monitoring software.

Chech in your bios for S1, or S3 standby states and try each. I think S1 is the one you'll want.

But I did a BIOS reflash. Wouldn't that reset it to default? Which I'm pretty sure can do standby normal?

A bios flash would likely reset everything to its default state. My main rig can only standby in S1 to shut the fans down. The funny thing is I think I used to use S3.

But even when I remove the fan, standby is still messed up. So would that stuff matter?

Was suggested to try a system restore to 5 days ago. Tried it, to no avail.

Well it's just an idea, as S1 is a deeper state of sleep than S3. (or is it the other way around?) Anyway you should give it a try, it only takes a minute to change and reboot. I would look at it before doing restores or diving into anything deeper. It's one thing to rule out if nothing else.

Okay, here's the latest.
I've reinstalled the motherboard monitoring software, and put the new fan back into the mobo. And everything except standby works fine.

Now if I try to standby, rather than that wacked-out halfway standby, windows pops up an error saying that the lilli touchscreen drivers wont allow the standby.
What could my recent events have done to the lilli driver to change it like that? Are there new lilli drivers I can download that will fix the problem? (I am going to search for this one, I just thought I'd let you all know the latest before getting down to searching for new drivers, so dont flame)

New drivers did the trick! Now it goes to standby perfectly (Including killing power to my +5, which I didn't have to do anything special for, it just has always done that). And the fan is plugged into the MOBO, and the mobo monitoring software works.
