perhaps an opus 150 problem? ok im having few problems..im using a mini itx via p4 board with a p4 1.7 mobile chip that runs at 1.2g and consumes 30 watts.. i have 4 usb devices..gps. touchscreen. external 2.5 hdd. and slim dvd. also running a 3.5 200gb hdd. the first day it worked fine! now when i start my car it starts windows..if i shut the car off fill up gas and turn the car back on it wont start back up? i have to keep trying again and again!? after 5 minutes of trying it will work again. also i installed media engines new beta...tonight i noticed alot of skipping in songs and my iguidance was losing gps signal alot..i never had this problem with my old hp epc.. now i read up and searched and i found out the opus needs its own line str8 to the battery..8 guage is good..i saw this tonight so i didnt get a chance to do it yet..now do you guys think my problem is my wiring not thick enough? or do you think im not running enough power to the computer from the 150 watt opus? i know im not overkilling my usb devices..do you think my media engine problem can be related to a power issue?
what size is the wire your running to opus at this point? because i have a machine with a full size drive and a P4 2.3 and a CDRW and it runs great.
im not sure..its a little thinner than the original opus wire...im gonna buy some 8 guage wire today and try it..thanks!
do you have ACPI installed? i had all sorts of shutdown/startup problems until i reinstalled windows with ACPI (advanced cconfiguration and power interface or something?)
it would shut down, wouldnt start back up again until i totally removed power to the opus...
you can tell if u have ACPI installed if u right click my computer >> properties >> hardware >> device manager >> computer >> you should have ACPI listed in there under the computer tab..
you need ACPI to be able to hibernate properly (using the power button/automatic opus switch on/off)
i hope that made snese i wrote this in a hurry at work!!!
only problem is that to install ACPI u need an ACPI compatible motherboard, and you need to do a clean install of windows
