    EIDE Cable Connectors

Does anyone no where I can find one of these ( or even now what I'm talking about. It's like a plastic piece with a male eide pin set on either side used for connecting to cables with female ends

Must say I haven't seen one. What do you need it for?

    Something like this:
    http://shop.store.yahoo.com/cableson...40pinidem.html

I think that's as close as you're going to get. I've seen what you're describing in 44-pin for laptop drives, but it's a smaller pin arrangement.
I'm reasonably certain you can find what you're looking for at an electronics shop.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?

Carfully diassemble an existing cable? Might be worth it if you have one that is shorter than you need (or longer I guess)

And that will likely be smaler than what you need for EIDE. The pins are closer together than a standard IDE connector, so it wouldn't work.
Yoiu might try an electronics shop and see if they have what you need. You may end up getting something 50-pin and hacking off 5 rows or something.

if it's not a boot drive I'd use firewire or USB2 .. fire is 6 wires.. USB 1.1 was 4 .. not sure what USB2 is..

then get a extenal driv eenclose and use the hardware from that.. the great thing there is you can use external 12v power.. I use that for my cd/dvd drive..
