My thinking on this is that it's backup camera, not going to be used to photograph people or anything that needs to be high resolution - I just want to see if I'm about to back over anything.
Look forward to hearing about it. Only problem for me with cameras like this are they all are reversed. I have a rear, one for the interior, but I want a forward looking camera too.

The one that I had a link to is sort of meant to be installed in your trunk's (boot's) keyhole, which is what I'm going to do - no bumper cutting involved.

Here's a pic of what it will look like on my car (borrowed "1HOTBMW"'s picture from e46fanatics.com):

Been playing with Video for Linux, so I grabbed a cap to give an idea of the view.

I held it against my backdoor's frame to avoid interlacing, that's what's on the left of the pic. The first part of the fence is about 4ft away, the second between 20-25ft. Probably about 30ft between the two side walls.

I still think the autoiris is wonky. Sometimes pics are 10 times clearer than others.

Out of curiousity, what do you need a front facing camera for?

I got a few caps today of the Savv camera. I'm thinking of mounting it in one of those fake shark antennas on the roof. If I put it inside, I lose a bit of view. Though the positive is that I don't have to drill a hole in my roof.

    Heres it on the headliner.

The cones are the corner of the field of view.

Decisions, decisions. I think for now, I might go with it installed in the interior until I get some of these other projects squared away.

shotgunefx: that is definitely a very wide angle camera, very nice! 150-170 degrees or so?

Can you post a link to pricing specs etc please?
