Dual Battery Setup?? Help!
Ok, So I'm new, forgive me if this is the wrong catagory.
Does anyone have a step by step tutorial or would anyone be able to make on for me? Its going to be done to a Toyota Tercel, an 85. I know I need a battery isolator, and a second battery and cable, but thats about it.
The car is going to be used as a stormchase vehicle, and the reasoning for a second battery is this, What happens if I drain the battery in front of a huge storm? Aye, I'm screwed.
So, add a second battery, then drain that one, and have the first one to start the car so that the car can charge the second battery. Anyway, If anyone can help, i'd appreciate it! :)
Ooop, almost forgot. On a Toyota, would I have to run 2 cables from the battery, (- and a +), or would I be able to go with just a positive from the battery to the positive terminal on the inverter, and then bolt a cable to the metal floor of the car and then to the negative terminal of the inverter?
I've been told I can do this on a domestic because they have the battery grounded to the frame and body, I'm just not sure about imports.
