    If Microsoft built cars you would need to restart your car, then it would perform illegal operations and crash.

    This already exists. BMW's Idrive system is built on Windows CE

    yeah, they've been quietly working on this for a while. I think I posted a link from Channel9 a while ago showing a single-din solution they were testing that was completely voice controlled. No screen necessary. Pretty cool.

    A friend has just bought an X5, went to see it. It takes about 15 seconds to boot into the system. The only thing it shows whilst booting is BMW.
