Anyone?
So I have a laptop hardwired to the car battery currently. I want to add a self powered USB hub onto one of the 2 existing USB ports. I want to install the mini-key keyboard and possibly even a reverse camera. If I were to do that I'd need a 3 port self powered USB hub.
My question is, it is okay to be using a self powered hub? Enough power and will it affect anything? And if not, can anyone please recommend me a good self-powered hub - preferably in a retail store so I can go pick it up?
Any help is appreciated!
Anyone?
well a lot of self powered hubs dont take USB2.0 mostly 1.1 but if those devices are 2.0 then you prolly wont be able to do it. If they are 1.1 then go for it
Read the third to last post
I'm using a four-port Belkin USB hub. Works fine at 2.0 with a 16 ft. extension.
Well I dont think the devices are 2.0 capable. Its just the 7" Xenarc touchscreen and a Rikaline GPS - The other devices would be the mini-key and possibly a reverse camera.
None of those would be 2.0 right?
BTW, I noticed that on the right side you can just click on the # of your post and it'll link you straight to that post.![]()
Also any suggestions on a hub? There's one at Best Buy for $20 I just may pickup and try it out. That way if it fails I can return it. I think its a Belkin or Targus model.
