    Problems with my new setup

I'm attempting to build another setup, which is as follows.

    Biostar M7NCG400/ AMD M-2400 45 watt/ 512MB DDR-333 PC2700/ Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 9 120gb ATA/133 HDD / cdr-dvd combo/ Opus 150 but i'm using a regular 250watt psu for testing.

I'm loading windows and during setup, I get the Windows XP logo and the blue scanner underneath just freezes. That's the end of my setup. And that's supposedly after it "copied" the files. Now I've swapped out the hdd, memory, ide cables....my next guess is the board?? err..I just got the damn thing. I forgot what forum I looked on, but supposedly some ppl have problems loading XP. Was this a problem for anyone with this setup?

I'm no computer wiz myself but i assume you are telling me to reset my graphics or gfx? I don't think the video is freezing up. my hdd light didn't flash again after it freezes, even with the second hdd.

try to format the drive(s) and than let XP frmat it (the slower one) to NTFS. It should succede copying all the files before continuing setup. Let's hope that fixs he problem. BTW: i'm working now, so that's why i wasn't awailible... sorry.

Congrats on the job!! with VW? I'm assuming it might be a defective board. I tried swapping out everything just in case. Btw, it never completed setup. After copying the initial setup files it reboots. I see the windows xp logo...then it freezes. Someone said it might be the harddrive controller on the mobo. I have noooo idea!

i'm sorry you have so much trouble with the setup i recommended you. Hope everything'll be all right. No, it's not VW, it's our own family company that we started with my dad, doing renovations/construction. It's soo good to be your own boss. cheers
