    Post CD Recievers, with Aux-In

Hi I am looking for anyone who has a cd reciever with an aux-in to let me know what model reciever they have and how they like it. I am in the market for a new face and dont wanna get a ****ty one, or one with some kind of problem so that my mp3box will suck :-)

Btw, budget max is like 300. (looking more for like 250).

    Thanks.

this is a thread from a couple days ago. It's a list from crutchfield of all their head units with aux in (except blaupunkt which almost all have them by using an adapter)
I would definitely look at that and do a search on this site of "aux" and check out the other post

    Cool

I posted a little while back on this exact topic, and got some very good feedback. After a LOT of research, I ended up going with an Alpine CDA-7863 (nice head unit!). It is one of the new models, and you must buy an adapter for $20.00 that turns the AI Net connector into two RCA inputs. Keep in mind, this is exactley what it designed to do. It has only been hooked up a short time (less then a week), but so far it sounds great! I can't hear any signal loss, distortion, ect when using the computer. Now I do admit, I am a big fan of Alpine products. I have always found them to be among the best out there. My only complaint is having to pay that extra $20.00 plus waiting a week for that adaptor to arrive, because NONE of these highly qualified sales people at any of the places I went to that carries it, knew anything about inputs, adaptors, ect. But to be fair, I must give credit where credit is due. Most of them did know that they sold car stereo equipment! Anyway, the term you wan't to look for with the Alpine headunits is, Versatile-Link Ready. If it says that in the Features list, then it has the option for that RCA input adaptor. Hope this helps. Peace.

i have a sony cdx-c6750 with and xr101 box that gives it RCA inputs off the back (no crappy wire in the front ). it cos me $250 total. i have an extra sony xr-c550 which is a beautiful deck that will accept the xr101. the only thing wrong with the deck is the tape player doesnt work and the wires for the internaly amplified speakers are cut short (i used an external amp and cut them to save space). you cant even tell its a tape player cause its a flip down face. i could sell you the deck and an xr101 for like $200 email me if you're interested

The part number for the Alpine Ai-Net to RCA adaptor is KCA-121B. I haven't installed my head unit yet (CDA-7839) so I don't know how it really sounds, but I think it should be fine. My only question is, Do you flip the switch (on the bottom of the head unit) that enables the ai-net interface?

I called four local shops (Western Washington) and finally found one at Car Toys in Lynnwood for $15. I was expecting to pay at least $50, so I thought that it was not a bad deal.

I also bought a set of sheilded twisted-pair RCA cables to extend the cable to my laptop (for now), and eventually to the mobo that I will put in the center console.

    Good luck!
