This is just a side note for everyone that thinks that the packard bell remotes will or will not work as an alternative for irman. Yesterday I picked one up at a comp show for 10 bucks. 3 hours of work and got it working with my kenwood rc-600 remote w/ winamp. Don't be discouraged to buy these remotes because they are a perfect replacement for irman and alot cheaper
35.00 - irman
10.00$ - packard hell big diff...
If you need help setting one of these up use Girder
The link for setting it up is Here.
and the winamp group is here
I figured that so many ppl said this isn't a good alternative and i got it working and nicely.
The only problem which took most of my time to figure out why it wasn't working is because if you connect to the internet w/ 56k modem it will cause girder to get different signals, thats with pb reciever hooked up to com1. I figured i wold put my two cents in since it was hard for me to find info on how to set this thing up.

IRda is as much faster protocol and therefore incompatible with traditional IR remotes. I've never seen an IRda remote.
