Have free computers that I want to make into a carputer

I have about 15 compaq prosignia 330 desktops available to me absolutly free. They are all P3 450mhz, and I can load one up with 384mb of ram. They all have 12 gig hard drives and I also have some laptop hard drives lying around. I was wondering if I could use this equipment in my carputer and if an opus would support it all. I was thinking about using the laptop hard drives and using the converter sold here on mp3car.com to use a little less energy. Give me some ideas. I have a lot of free equipment laying around just collecting dust.

Sure, you could use them. Not too sure about the mobo factor, but I'm pretty sure an opus would work with them. The specs should be enough. 450 MHz is mroe than enough to run Win XP.

I would recommend not trying to put all 15 in your car.

Seriously though, what would be really cool is to build a Linux-based Beowulf cluster Supercarputer.

I'd like to expound upon what wi77iam said: an opus will power one, perhaps two, but certainly not 15.

As long as you have the space for one of those machines, go for it. Those mobo's tend to have proprietary form factors, so you won't likely be able to get a smaller pre-made case for them. But, you could build your own...
Same thing with the power supply - it may not be the same size as the dc-dc ps's that are available. Time to get out the hacksaw!
