I got the Motorized In-dash Housing For Lilliput from digitalww and had my monitor installed by them. I connected the unit today, and the monitor wont come out. I can hear the motor working, but sounds like one opf the gears is bad or the motor can not push the monitor out. When pulling on the monitor, it helps, as it will open, then same problems occurs when closing. I read that someone else had the same problems but to solution were posted. I emailed digitalww and currently waiting for reply.
If anyone had the same promlem, any feedback will be helpfull.

That was me.I think one of the gears is broken. Can you hear the motor but nothing happens? I just pull out the screen by hand let it flip up by itself. When done in manual i let if fold down then I push it back into its housing.
I will be sending it back to Armen soon. But I want to let this thing run for another couple of weeks to make sure no other issues arise. I am glad I did this as there is another issue where my screen does not show a pure white now. I know its probably the ribbon cable inside, or the barrel plug.

That is correct. The monitor runs but someting clicks inside, when pulling monitor it will come out.Can you hear the motor but nothing happens?
Also, did you no see that the cable that comes from the monitor to pc is different from what originally came with lilliput. I have an extended cable and now it does not fit. I guess I can extend the vga cable and usb.

The problems you are having is basically for two reasons.
1. The in dash housing is a pile of ****e.
and
2. DigitalWW are quite happy to take money, but don't give a crap about supporting the product (or even answering emails when someone requests a refund).
AVOID.

You are correct that the indash housing is not a top quality product. Very cheap made and does not fit fully; however, if it atleast worked as it should be, it woulf feet my need for now.

As far as DigitalWW customer servise, I have previously send him emails and he only replied on the one where i was actualy ordering the item. The last email was send to him about the problem was about 2 days age and still no reply. I hope to resolve this issue and I hope he will reply to me.
Well that's what i thought, I even did extensive repairs on mine just after it arrived to get it working, just because i thought i have no choice - i.e there is nothing else out there.Originally Posted by shak
But its still giving me problems, it ejects when it shouldnt, and worse tries to retract when it is tilited. It is a pile of crap & im not sure its worth the hassle.
Good luck on the waiting for a reply - I only got him to send the spares to fix mine after threatening credit card fraud complaint. And have had no reply about a refund.
Just for the record - I don't usually like to publish this kind of info about a transaction in public, but when the guy just ignores weeks of personal correspondance - what can i do??
Armen has provided me with great customer support! I got the new dww-700m and the touch controller was bad so they are sending me a brand new unit.
I really like the screen, even though there are problems screens like this are new to the market. We decided to be the pioneers and with leading edge there will always be issues.
Next years models will have less issues and the years after that. This was one of two motorized in-dash units to come out, and ours we were able to use our exsisting lilliput.
Will probably sell mine in the winter but for now, it does fine.
