    Help with preout

    Is there anyway to have a 5v-8v preout on a carputer?

    I doubt that even the best computer soundcard is going to output that much.

    And don't you mean output 5-8 watts? Typically audio output levels aren't measured in volts.
    I'm sure I'll get flamed if I'm wrong here.

    they can be measured in both volts and watts, preouts are usually measured in volts

    They are measured in volts. You could run your sound card output into a line driver that will increase the voltage to 8v.
