No Ethernet Connection on EPIA-M board

    Any help greatly accepted!

Just received what should become a carputer and everything works well except for an ethernet connection to my home LAN. When I go to Network Connections, the 1394 connection shows up, but nothing for a local area connections. In System > Device Manager > Network Adapters, I only see the 1394 Adapter and nothing else.

When the CAT5 is plugged into the RJ45 on the rear, both the green and amber LEDs light. Do an IPCONFIG and nothing shows up.

What do I need do to get the LAN adapter loaded up? I've tried to install new hardware and anything to get it loaded, but no joy.

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Did you look in the BIOS?

As Laidback says, sounds as if the LAN adapter is disabled in the BIOS.

My thanks to you both! I did look at the BIOS (at least, in the VIA manual), but didn't see the "enable onboard LAN support." It works like a champ!

Go to Device Manager to see if there is a question mark on the network adapter. If it is there, that means the driver did not install correctly.

Why are you posting this 'solution', when the person with the original problem posted that he resolved the issue?
Read the ENTIRE thread before posting next time, n00b....
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?
