pics would help....
I have a 2002 A4 and I think the center console/stereo layout for 2005 is the same.

You can purchase a dash kit that will convert that space into double din, which could accomodate an in-dash and a single din headunit.
Hi all,
I'm planning to by an audi A4 (new 2005 model) with bose sound system.
So I'm thinking how to migrate my installation to this new car...
I'm currently using an epia M10K with a indash motorized touch screen.
In my current car, there is no problem since a have an available DIN space below my stock HU.
But in the A4, there is no such place!
So i'm wondering how to keep the stock HU and put my screen?
Do you think we can move everything down (I see that there is some space at the bottom of the climate control unit) ? Or maybe there is a better idea?
All ideas are welcome!
I want my screen to be able to be hidden...
Thank you
Fariouche

Hi,
As I said, I'm planning to buy this car... But I do not have it.... So cannot take pictures
I did not found clear pictures of the dashbord (well, it seems that they mixe old style and new style dashbords pictures so I'm a bit confused on the layout of the new model's dashboard)
Thanks for the pictures... It will be very hard to keep the stock HU
I see also that there is also a deck player?
Ok, so there is no room anywhere to put the screenn indash?
Thank you.

2002 and 2005 should indeed be the same for the A4. The model before could be a bit different.Originally Posted by KimaX

Well, if they are the same. You could always mount the screen where the vents are, up above the stereo.Originally Posted by proTONEd
Depending on how big the vents are, you might be able to keep a little bit of the vent, so that you can get some ait out of it.
I was thinking of doing the same to my car.

Ah!....
Yeah, actually, the vents may be a good place! But it could be hot (in cold days)
Any other ideas??

There is no way to do it with the stock head unit. I would suggest the same thing KimaX said. use on of those adapeter and get an aftermarket HU. IMO I think a molded screen would look the best.

4 options:
1. the vents
2. lose the head unit
3. lose the HVAC controls and control them through the pc, this is the hardest one of all...
4. like Quattro said, mold it it. By far, the best looking solution.
